How Does That Make You Feel?

It's another
"How does that make you feel?" Thursday

For some time the Aliens have been away from
Spo-Reflections. They are busy at IKEA, setting up pseudo-Swedish Christmas decorations. The blue and yellow bulbs are really surveillance cameras to monitor human behavior. Bless their hearts (both of them) they want to observe the yearly ritual called ‘holiday shopping’. When Eartha Kitt’s mind is too busy, they use mine for consultation. On this topic I advised them ‘don’t bother’, but they are keen to fathom the spirit of Christmas retail shopping.
They get it mixed up with Hallowe’en, which is not surprising, considering Hallowe’en items for sale are up at the same time as the Christmas things.

They asked if I would get up early the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping.
I told them I would sooner eat rats.

Shopping the Friday after Thanksgiving!

How does that make you feel?

How do you serve those rats? If they are the only option, I'll be over for a serving or two. I'm with you. Black Friday is the one day I REFUSE to go shopping.

Our Thanksgiving is always a Monday.

So if there are sales, they will be the week-end before.

So shopping the Friday after Thanksgiving is fine by me.

lol

Not on your life. I've done it once when I was younger, but since then I've gotten to where I really don't like being in crowded places shoulder to shoulder with total strangers (unless he's hot). I hear rats are good with cream gravy and bisquits (it's a Southern dish).

One of my favorite books is 'Shakespeare's Dog'. In it William Shakespeare in exasperation (see Tony's blog!) says "Sooner I'd eat rats at Tewksbury than do that deed"
The expression never fails to make me smile.

Yeah, I don't like doing the after Thanksgiving shopping. I'd rather do it during the week, when I've got some time off.

They don't call it Black Thursday in the retail trade for nuthin' ya know...

I could tell you stories... but I think this gives me a good idea for Black Thursday stories on my blog!!!

Actually, this Saturday (the 18th) is my downtown's Holiday Open House and if it's anything like last year, it will be my BUSIEST day of the year! Madness! Insanity! Ho Ho Ho!

Did I mention I'm doing a countdown to January?

Shopped Black Friday once, AT WAL-MART NO LESS, and I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!

There's no electronic in the world cheap enough for me to battle with the crowds.

Then again, it could be me as I don't do well in large groups/crowds.

Oooh Spider....I'm getting moist! I kid.

I usually spend Black Friday in a turkey coma. All that tryptophan really does me in.

Shopping on Friday after Thanksgiving? That would be a resounding 'no!' I'm going to be way too busy coloring Easter eggs; I plan on staying ahead of the curve this coming new year. Yep.

I spend time with my family over christmas. The shopping thing is not for me. We may buy a small gift for each other (under 5 bucks) but the most important things is spending time together. I can do all my shopping in one evening.

I love it! It is just fun with the crowds. I usually am not a fan of crowds, but I love the crowds on Black Friday. Last your, Abercrombie & Fitch had one of their models (shirtless) in their store. I really couldn't look because I was not out to my parents then. But I hoping to find one this year! Maybe even get my picture taken with him!!!

Why would you do today what you can put off till the day before Christma. For years I have waited till the weekend before Christmas. I have my list and I dive in and get it done in one big drive. What happens when they don't have what I want? It doesn't happen often. I am not shopping for youngsters and my mom's list usually doens't have things on it that stores run out of. It has worked for years so why change it this year for the aliens.
