How Does That Make You Feel?
This “How Does That Make You Feel?” is about Las Vegas, which I call Lost Vegas.
This weekend is Someone’s birthday. We are driving to Lost Vegas. It is our first time to drive there, but if Steve at WhirlyWorld can do it, so can we.
As the weekend is all about the birthday boy we are going to a casino resort, of which he is fond. Someone likes to gamble, and he is very good at it – not that he always wins but he allots so much money for it; money he considers the ‘money to play’ for the pleasure it derives. If he wins, great! If he looses, well, that’s the amount he chose for the entertainment of gambling. I don’t gamble as I am a sore loser. I just know there is some one at security laughing at my loss and saying ‘sucker!”.
We have a friend who lives there (he works at the Wynne). We’ll see his house and his neighborhood, so we’ll see more than just the strip.
We will see “Ka” by Cirque de Soliel. We like Cirque. We very much enjoyed “O”; we did not care for Zoomanity; a couple of topless tarts swimming in a large champagne glass does not float our boat. We hope Ka is better.
I don’t gamble but I enjoy watching people gamble and Lost Vegas is chock full of entertaining people and not just on stage.
I can’t make up my mind about Lost Vegas. It is either marvelous or a nightmare or both. I suspect a casino resembles the first level of Hell, with its bright lights, noise, smoke, crowds and even more noise.
I have been to Lost Vegas two times; the 1st time I stayed at The Bellagio, and the 2nd time at Mandelay Bay. This 3rd time (for the experience) we will try The Luxor ( I will think of Morgen at Blog Eat Blog World).

Well Spo...
I'm luckwarm to Vegas. It's fun for passing through if on way to a destination like the Grand Canyon.
Now I might enjoy it with some of my Blogger buds there. Better yet, a nice beefy 'bear.' Better yet, Jack Radcliffe!! WOOHOO!
I've driven from Arizona to Lost Vegas a number of times. Actually pretty cool drive.
I had to use the bathroom on one of my trips so we stopped in the midddle of nowhere and I went behind the tumbleweeds. THAT was kinda' scwary, I could hear the hissing of the snakes nearby.
Have a wonderful birthday week-end. I know I will. :)
I have absolutely no desire to go to Vegas. What happens in Vegas can stay in Vegas for all I care. None of the gambling, glitter, lights, etc. have any appeal to me. But then again I am such a party animal!
I would like someday to see Cirque. I've seen some shows on Bravo (TV).
Have fun nonetheless!
Leon's nickname for the town is "Lost Wages." My favorite part of LV is the beautiful state park called Red Rock Canyon just west of town. The red cliffs are quite splendid, and you would never know that you are less than a half hour from the Strip.
Say happy bithday to Someone for us. We'll be thinking of him as we celebrate the Sagittarius party on Saturday night.
I've never been.
So I'd like to go at least once.
It seems cool for a one time thing.
I honestly think I would rather stay home, thanks.
One place I have never had any desire to visit...
I went once and never even made it to a casino LOL
I drove (or rode) through Vegas once when I was 13. Not to interesting at the time. I'd love to go now to see the spectacle its become.
Also 'cause there a blogger there I'd love to meet.
A trip to Las Vegas would be the best thing ever for me! I'm not a gambler (really) but like to get away and be a part of all the excitement and energy that the city has! Not to mention swimming in a pool that has waterfalls, greenery, etc. all around....Las Vegas = paradise for me.
Oh, and the shopping and dining is KILLER there!
It makes me feel dumb that I forgot to say...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SOMEONE!!!
You have your best odds on the craps table...but you probably already knew that.
I don't like to gamble (I'm a sore looser, too.) but I find casinos very interesting. I've never been to Las vegas, but I've been to Macao, the ex Portuguese colontg next top Hong Kong, which has become the Chinese Las vegas. The Chinese are obsessive gamblers and Macao is really an experience! Everyone, I mean evryone is there--- teen agers, grandmothers, buisness men, farmers---everyone, in a gambling frenzy.
It makes me feel like my drive to LV was an easy effort, and HELL, if I can do it, anyone can do it ;0)
Make sure to wear your seat belts, stop at the DAMN DAM, and don't do anything that will "lead to social dancing!"
Hi,
Just dropping by to explain why I basically have been avoiding blogger as of late. I can't leave comments on some blogs. Very frustrating.
Anyway, have a good day!!

I love road trips to Lost Wages!
I've taken 7 road trips there since moving to Phoenix. It's always a great experience when you take different people. I've yet to see a Soliel show (I know, I'm deprived). I did catch Ave. Q while it was there and that was great and I've seen Mamma Mia, which also was fun. I want to see the new musical Love, based on Beatle songs playing at the Mirage.
Have a safe and fun trip Michael!
I've always loved Vegas but it's been more about who I was there with than being there. Gambling is fun, but I don't ever feel like I can spare the money. The first time I went my best friend M.M. gave me $40 bucks to play with. It lasted till the wee hours of the morning. We were playing Blackjack and with her help I actually did better than she did.
Have a great time and drive safely.
I'm with Spider. I've never had the desire to visit LV. (No offense to Scott, by the way.)
I LOVE Lost Wages, in Sept. Whiirlyworld myself and a couple of other friends met up there. I find the city very "charged" with energy. I don't gamble too much, but I do like it. We saw Zumanity and LOVE, they were great...very different from each other. If you like the Beatles, then LOVE is for you. I liked it, although the Beatles were a bit before my time. We don't get out there too often, this was my sixth trip. Have a great time...wish I was going.
I don't gamble, but I love Las Vegas. It is one huge adult carnival. A bit of madness that we all sometimes need. I too like you like to watch the people as they dole out bills like prayer slips to the great god of finance.
Why do I not gamble? Simple logic... if i had a good chance of leaving with more money than with what I came then so would everyone else and that would bankrupt every casino in the place.
The fact that they are all thriving leads me to believe that if I join the frey, i will not be thriving by the end.
Have you ever seen 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?'
Have a grat time, the nearest I got to Cirque there was seeing Celine !
the ultimate in distraction.
Cirque is cool.
There's a movie made with Nicholas Cage called Leaving Las Vegas, that pretty well sums up the downside of Vegas. Good place to drink yourself to death.

The one time we went to Vegas, we stayed at the Excalibur (Lee loves medieval stuff) and it was fun -- yes, we saw the jousting tournament and all those nonsensical things!
But next time if we go back, I want a pyramid room at the Luxor!
I'm quite envious of your escapade, but I wish you much fun.
Looking forward to hearing details!

Never been and have no inclination to go. I've been to Atlantic City plenty of time and it sounds like a coked up verison of it so I'll pass.
