Grand Canyon I

We went for the weekend to the Grand Canyon. We drove to Flagstaff and then took a train to the Southern Edge. Now we can say we are truly residents of Arizona.

That photo looks like it belongs on the back 'bio' of your personal memoirs. Classic.

Very beautiful shots. There is a quality to the Grand Canyon that calls to mind the vastness of the American vision, for good and bad.
Sometimes in these kinds of photos one sees people standing in front of the canyon, as if it were a backdrop. Somehow, you seem an organic part of the whole, as though in some undefined way you've absorbed a part of the canyon into yourself. It's very affecting. Thank you for posting this.

Mike,

You could be the twin brother of a friend of mine here in Venice. He is, unfortunately, incurably straight but, as I am given to understand, a major figure in the sexual fantasies of quite a few gay men in town. Maybe you want to add Venice to the list of cities you want to visit...

Both Grand Canyon pics are great. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I hiked in and out a couple of years ago and it was beautiful.

I was in that neck of the woods on Sunday on my journey east. I should have waved as I drove by.
