Spo-Reflections this Monday Night.

I have reached a dry spell: I don’t feel anything creative or thoughtful to write these days.
Perhaps I am merely distracted with work and preparations to get out of the country in two weeks’ time. Perhaps the Muses went to Central America a few weeks ahead of me.
Let’s hope the Fates went to Ohio rather than Costa Rica.

Yesterday for the first time it snowed in Phoenix!! It didn’t last long but it was snow – a wet heavy type (when you have lived in Michigan you can discriminate snow types like some discriminate fine coffee). It did not stick. It seemed apt for St. Agnes Day, traditionally the coldest month of the year.
Alas, the frost killed the potted pepper plants. Oh well. Time to grow new ones anyway. The tomato seeds germinated but the pepper seeds (so far) have not germinate.

Someone and I started walking this year. When we don’t get to the gym we go for a half hour walk after supper around the neighborhood. I enjoy these walks. My great aunt did this and lived well into her 90s. Walking is excellent for both mind and body.

We had a small Weather Channel Party to await Doug at Gossemer Tapestry's interview.
Doug, you were fabulous! Next time you get Jim Cantorri as the clown who interviewed thought butterflies 'mammals"?? You handled that well!

In the next four weeks all sorts of events occur; we have our 10th year anniversary, we go to Costa Rica, my blog turns 1 years old in early February. I am also scoping out Wordpress as so many people give + feedback on it. I am still figuring out how it works, prior to making a leap.

Claudius the cat is getting old. He sleeps a lot more, seems less active. I wonder if he has a sort of bereavement depression since Tiberius died last September. I wonder if he is lonely.

Now I have paperwork to do. Then I will stretch and read blogs.

Sleep well all; and dream of waterfalls and chocolate ice cream.

We all suffer from Blog Block every now and then. Looks like I will have another link to update soon. I will sleep well tonight however it will be waterfalls and hot naked bears under them. Night!

No matter what you write, it is creative and thoughtful. I love the fact that it snowed in Phoenix (but I would). I would, however, never wish any harm to your peppers! I still want a bottle of your homemade salsa (not too hot though...I am delicate) lol

I am convinced that Giant Kitty died of loneliness after Miss Pinchy Face had to be destroyed.

Would you like to trade salsa recipes (I read Abert's comment.)?

My cat is getting old and slow, and very "clingy". I let her cling as much as she likes, as she's been faithful. But I'm aware that things are progressing with her.

It gives me pleasure to think that you and Someone have been together for ten years. May you and he have many times ten more.

Oh, careful, don't let the Fates stay in Ohio too long.

I highly recommend WordPress. Take the leap but before you do, simply set up an account with them and play. I have a test page where I try things out before adding/changing them on my main page. Also, they are very friendly and respond to questions quickly. Best of all...I never have trouble posting or commenting on pages at WordPress. Blogger on the otherhand can be a nightmare. Just the other day I had to give up leaving comments and it was the only time I had available all weekend.

WordPress rocks!

You creative issue might have something to do with today being the most depressing day of the year. It was discussed on TV today. However, I don't know how you could be depressed with snow in Pheonix. We are getting more tonight and tomorrow and I can't wait. I'm loving it. If you are right, I have 6 more days to like it before it starts to get old.

Perhaps Claudius would like a playmate? I have always found that cats stay healthier and more active if there are two or more of them in the house. Just a thought.

Let me know how the change to wordpress goes. The only problem I've heard of is that a couple of friends of mine could not get blogger to link to their new site. KarbonKountyMoos's page went to a search page for tractor parts...which was kind of interesting, but not exactly what she was hoping for. It did get straightened around though, and her new blog is very nice.

I guess if I come looking for your blog and find a search page for potted pepper plants, I'll know you had the same problem. Hopefully Spider or some of the other wordpress users can help you with the transition.

Spo- You'll get inpired again. How can Costa Rica not inspire you to write about several things. Don't have too much fun then. Popped into my blog today to post. Hope all is well.

Crap! I missed Doug's spot on WC!

I was amused by the betrayal of your northern roots in talking about the snow, especially when you said it did not "stick". I understood exactly what you meant, but I have found others who find the expression curious.

BTW, in the great northeast (in my area) we have yet to have any appreciable snow that has stuck.

Have a fabulous trip to Costa Rica. We too lost a long time pet and wondered if we should replace her so our remaining baby would not be lonely. We decided against replacing her (for now) and his little personality has changed dramatically for the good. Plus he is twiced as spoiled and gets to go on more road trips. Spoil the daylights out of Claudius and I'm sure he will be fine.

Good luck!

Thanks for the kind words. Oh, what I would have given to have Cantore be the interviewer- he's a fine looking man.

I heard about the snow in Phoenix and was thinking about you guys. I am so looking forward to the Friday after next. Can't wait to see the two of you.

P.S. Whatever you do, don't send the Furies to Minnesota. We have to fly through there on our way to Phoenix and San Jose, and I don't want those girls messing us up.

Michigan? Snow? But of course. The one that gets me is when they say, "It's just lake effect snow." I tell them, "It's cold, it's wet, it needs to be shoveled! It's snow!" But I will take a lot of snow over a little ice -- THAT is treacherous! Hope your trip is restful, fun, and inspirational.

1. I read somewhere once to walk before supper it is much more beneficial. Something about metabolism I think.

2. I'm sorry you lost some seedlings. I'll mourn for them! I MIGHT get to have a superb garden this year! Yeah!!

3. Eat the cat and put him out of his misery. Fry him up!!

*L*

Your blog is wonderful dull or no!

No Way!! Snow in Arizona, that is crazy.
Did you decide what to get Someone for your anniversary?
The fact that you still post, even tho' your heart's not in it, shows what a nice person you are. :)
