Can You Do This ???

This is a yoga pose called gomukhasana.
My fingers don't even touch each other, let alone the hands grasp.
It is somewhat frustrating.
So, I am curious; can you grasp your hands behind your back?
I want to know if I am the exception to the norm.

No, not even close. I want to start studying some basic yoga, though.

I can't even come close to that. I've been thinking about taking up yoga. Wanna be yoga buddies?

Got it! It did take a minute though, I had to lock the fingertips together and pull which took a couple tries.

Now my left arm hurts!!! Thanks a lot Michael. Oh...you're an MD...what do you recommend? heh heh

Rodger, what you need is a deep tissue massage, or hot stones.
Get that man of yours to pamper you a bit tonight,..

Are you kidding me?!!! This should be illegal. Right up there with gay sex! (**he smirks**)

I'm lucky to be able to grasp my hands together in front of me! LOL!

To anyone who has that degree of flexibility - God bless you! Go for it!

Hey Michael!

Yes I can do that...it's an awesome stretch. I'm excited that I'm getting back to where I was 3 years ago with yoga. I practiced twice this weekend in Vegas, along with running/walking - yes, I had a great time!

Spo,

I can do it! Didn't know it had a special name or was tied to Yoga. Of course, I am the Bhagwan and gomukhasana just sounds like something a Bhagwan does.

But does one really NEED to do this? Not the best of parlor tricks or conversation starters....

I can grasp finger tips doing it left hand under and right hand over top, but only when I'm really warmed up.

do I look like I have Inspector Gadget arms?
I'm with Lemuel: I'm lucky to do it in front!

keep stretching!

I can touch fingertips, but only if my left hand goes back over the shoulder and the right arm comes in from the side- the opposite from what the woman in the picture is doing. I injured my left shoulder out at the Fen a few years back, and have never regained the mobility that I once had in that arm.

I've always been able to do this, and the splits, all three ways, so I think I might be double jointed or something, perhaps I should start taking yoga classes? Will it help me get rid of this gut that's still hanging around?
