Curious Things Around the House #3
This is a the start of a palm tree.
Doug at Gossemer Tapestry has a partner, whom I refer as the Wild One.
Mr. Wild One gave me this little palm tree when he and Douglas were hiking Palm Springs last year.
It is one of the few green things that is successfully growing in my backyard. It used to be six inches tall. As you can see it is doing nicely. I repotted it. I hope it ‘takes off”.
So thank you Wild One, I think of you every time I see and water it. I hope that some day he can visit and see it himself.

Mr. Wild One has our entire breezeway filled with seedling palms and cycads. Soon the weather will cool and they, along with his collection of more mature cycads, will take over half of our living room floor.
Glad to see that yours is doing so well.
I love the thought of taking a small plant and watching it flourish. Plants are one of my true passions...love the gardening aspect, even the weeding.
That's cool, I would of never thought to plant one in a pot. Do you have a spot picked out for it when it gets bigger. Palms are so beautiful.
There's something really beautiful about friends or lovers giving living plants as gifts.
It's very cute, and size doesn't matter :)
Bring him to Florida one day to meet his brethren...
